help with Brightstar HID
anybody here have a brightstar hid kit installed on their civic?
i picked one up for a buddy and i'm stumped. it just doesn't want to light. I don't understand why.
anybody have any insights? i ran straight power to the battery and it only lights then. Its a plug and play kit but for some reason it still doesn't light. its really pissing me off.
its a complete plug and play kit and there is absolutely NO wire that goes to the battery and there is NO relay whatsoever, its not even in the wiring harness so its not like it was misplaced or something. If I were to use a relay or direct battery power then I'd have to start cutting and splicing wires which IMO is pretty stupid since the kit was manufactured like this.
The stock headlights work totally fine, as soon as I plug and the hid stuff together they don't fire at all, but then I rum them straight to the battery they come on but both the high beam and the low beam come on. this is a hi-low kit that has a seperate bulb for the highbeam.
One thing I did thinK of was just butchering the harness that came with this crap kit and adding a relay and running direct power to the batter BUT the car uses ground switching to trigger the high and low beams and I can't seem to figure out the wiring because of it. This brightstar kit has seperate ignitors so i even tried swapping bulbs/balasts/ignitors and its the same thing everytime.
I've installed two XD HID kits on my own cars and never had issues....HELP PLEASE!
