Default LS tranny or B16?? with B20Z

ok my buddy had a B20Z with a LS tranny in his EG and was able to keep up with ITR and even beat them. anyways the tranny blew and part of the block blew.

he wants the same engine cause he loved the torque. wat tranny should he go for?? alot of people were giving me mixed opinions on which tranny he should get.

i say that with a B16 tranny, he would fly through the gears and wouldnt take advantage of the torque he has.

with a LS, gears are longer and would take advantage of his 2L engine.

anybody have any opinions on this???

it depends on his driving habits! if he does alot of highway driving and like to run with the germans, go with the LS, but if u want to run throught the gears fast go B16, but for all around driving the Ls tranny works wonders for that setup, just my 2 cents

Tell him to get the B16 tranny. Lower gears Multiply torque so it'll be quicker.

basically, he wants his car to be as quick as possible.

he'll probably only do i/h/e

so i guess the B16 would be the best choice.....

From personal experience B16 tranny! Dont even think of another LS tranny.

Once your buddy gets one, he will neverever want another tranny on that motor.

B16 tranny for sure if he wants to go faster.

The LS tranny is way too long and slow for turbo cars, so I couldn't imagine how bad it would be on an all motor car.
