I think Honda should etch the VIN on the block, head and tranny. The random numbers that they etch on the block under the B18C5 is not trace-able to the average Joe (or is it).
When I first got my ITR used, I wanted to check if the motor was the original one...I went to the Honda/Acura dealership and they did know how to trace it from those random number under the "B18C5" stamping. If someone knows how to do this, please let me know.
Thanks.

The numbers under the engine stamp ARE traceable. But only street crime detectives and "in the know" cops can run em against the law enforcement/insurance databases. Thats how tons of hybrids have been confiscated here in NYC.
on my last PY, I had the vin on all the windows...but that didn't stop it. Even if it is on the engine or the tranny.......those scum bags always have their way...they can just have it sanded off......
