Default how does this sound for reliability?

b20 block
honed, some sort of aftermarket pistons, haven't decided but i am looking for high 11s compression wise. eagle rods, balanced crank, arp rod and headbolts, block blueprinted and balanced, and maybe a blockguard. the head is a pr3 head, just some itr cams and valvetrain. typical i/h/e, jdm R header, 2.5 inch exhaust.

how safe you think this is? i'm not worried about throwing a rod or anything, my only concern is cracking a sleeve. Would 8grand daily be okay?

sounds fine, block guard would just increase reliability but i dont think it would be really nessesary with stock bore

i hit vtec a couple of times a day. can't go without it

what pistons would you guys suggest? I'm not trying to spend a lot of money for expensive forged pistons, this motor wont be seing nitrous or anything liek that. I'm lookin to not spend too much and have compression under 12. Any suggestions?

i dont see reliability being a problem as long as you dont beat up on it the first
couple thousand miles. just remember, the number one reason motors blow is human error, improper tuning being the main reason. if you are running high compression then you need high octane gas (93 or better preferrably) and really really good tuning.

Ok, and these are on stock B20 sleeves right? I just want to make sure I won't hurt anything by taking mine that high.

https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=1359728 My setup

I drove it for pizza delivery for 6k miles takin it to 8k daily. It still drives like a new car. Very reliable, and with your setup you would have a much stronger bottom end so I'm sure you would be fine

Actually I was referring to the B20 stock sleeves. The B16 with its short stroke can take 8k rpm daily, I know. I was asking about those with B20VTEC, using stock bottom end, no reinforcing.

Ok thanks B18TurboEF.
