Purchasing a s2000. Help me out.
I'm currently thinking of purchasing a 04' s2000. But as my first car is it really worth it? Some say it's not a reliable daily driver, it eats a lot of gas, and this car spins out easily? Mind opposing that for me fellow s2000 owners.
Can you afford the car? If this is your first car...and this is not to be taken offensively, but are you in high school? Would surely suck to have a high car payment, insurance payment and gas prices going sky high...have to fill it up all the time.
To speak generically on the car...its very reliable if you take care of it and you can afford to service it when it needs it...afford to replace tires when they need it (and especially on the 04's, those tires are not cheap)...gas mileage isnt too bad, 20-25mpg is what me and my wife have been getting lately...insurance for me and my wife isnt bad at all, but for a young person...its gonna be killer.
I dont think this is a great daily driver, but that is because im tall...i wouldnt drive this car daily, id have traded it in a long time ago. I certainly dont think its a good car to have as a "first car"...just my opinion.

Not a good first car if you've never driven an FR. Otherwise, reliability is top notch. Maintenance cost is low, and gas mileage is better than a lot of "sport cars" out there.
People have spun it enough for Honda to introduce VSA (Vehicle Stability Assist) in the 2006 models. Sounds like extra weight and complexity to me. Instead of traction control, you should practice throttle control.

I don't know. My first car was a 2 seater sports car and I totaled it twice in 2 years. My insurance stayed very high, very long! Just something to think about.
