you don't NEED one.....but it is nice to have for insurance
block guards do exactly what their name states..........guard the block
it would be a good idea for applications with weak sleeves, such as a B20

the point of sleeving a block is so you dont need to use a block guard.

B18b bottom ls rods/ ls crank/ OS CTR pistons(.25)/ arp rod bolts
GSR tranny with 4puck clutch
B18C1 head w/ skunk2 springs and TI retainers/ EF-1 M23 cams (JUN3 equivelent)
TUNING: Cam gears/ JDM P30 ECU/ Apexi VAFC
Compression approx. at 12.4:1

right now it runs amazing but it has a STOCK B20 header Stock CIVIC DX Cat and 2" piping to a high flow muffler.

Im looking to get a 2.5" 4-2-1 header test pipe and 2.5" catback exh.

Because of the exhaust restrictions when vtec hits at 5100rpm the only difference is engine noise up until about 6500rpm, then it begins to fly. i usually find myself shifting anywhere from 7500-8000rpm now because of lack of top end power. once it is complete i should be redlining at 8500rpm with power all the way.

Oh yea and it runs like a stock honda, never hesitates, never smokes, never doesnt start on the first turn and best of all gets 30MPG!!!!

i am in the middle of getting all of my parts for lsvtec i allready have a new ls water pump from when i was going to do ls turbo, is that safe to run or should i just sell it and get a gsr one. i know the gsr one has less teeth on it so it doesn't spin so fast during high rpms but has anybody had any problems running the ls water pump and revving to 8k rpms?

zer0-psi missunderstood
took internals from a jdm itr head an put it back into another b16 head . so i took out the
cams
valve springs
and ratianer
and did a 3 angle valve job and bought a new set of valves that are made from Ferrea

raise ur VTEC up and it might help u out. when VTEC opens up and sounds really loud but the car aint moving fast, its usually cuz VTECis set too low. u ever took the car to a dyno? u will see the power drop when VTEC kicks in at 5100 until it reaches like what u said, around 6K. i would set VTEC to engage at around 5.6-5.8K to see how the car feels
