I've heard lots of good things about these kits, these lights are EXTERMLY bright and give you that look you want, better visibilabilty, and wont burn out after 2 weeks like the cheap bulbs ( or not so cheap ) you see at the auto parts store....

Cool. Thanks for the site. I was looking on matrixracing.com and they had some cool stuff. But I was looking at the site you gave me and I think I'll buy the HID kits from them.

You're going to get **** from those lights. Kits like those are teh reason HIDs are illegal. 6300k is bright blue and 8300k is purple. After 5000k you start losing light output, plus you look like a jackass. I've seen so many types of HID kits with bad glare.

If you really want HIDs, you should go projector retrofit. It's still illegal, but it's clean, uses OEM parts, and it doesnt cause the glare that gets you into trouble with other drivers and the police.

http://www.hidplanet.com sells kits, and their forum tells you how to do retrofits into your headlights, or people will do it for you. It's not TOO much more expensive to make it out of reach, and it's really nice. Check another thread in the Accord forum I responded in today, it has some comparo pics between retrofits and stock HIDs.

They do now run hot. Who told you that? They use less wattage.

Maybe you read an article about a harnesses melting, but that has nothing to do with bulbs running hot. BTW that's what the wireharness is for.

Also, do not go for the kit. As Freakazoid said, they are the reason why HID kits are illegal.

They do run out? What?

I never said thet run cold. I responded to Freakazoid who was concerned that HID bulbs run "really hot." Of course they get warm, but we are comparing 35Ws to 55Ws, and sometimes PIAA bulbs or aftermarket bulbs consume even more. Thus; emitting more heat, and sometimes to the point where the harness and housing get melted.

You do some homework, for example 7000K is not brighter than 4300K

OMG, don't I know that? I was joking and that was why I said do some HW. I have HID projector retrofit on my car right now. I hate the misconception that the higher the K the brighter.

If u really want bright go with the 4300K. If u want a little bit of blue colour then get the 6000K which is what i have. I'd rather get 6000k than 4300k but 4300k is a little bit brighter but it is like white. If u go to like 8000k or even 10000k u get like a green, purple colour and that is gay. So yeah.

Choose whichever 1 u like.

they do run hotter than regular bulbs...the 4300k or 6000k notations refer to the degrees kelvin that the bulbs produce...the higher the temperature, the different shade of color...a regular standard hallagen bulb is somewhere between 2k-3k...so yes, they run hot, but the bulbs also use different plastics to get around melting your wiring harness...i've never heard of this occurence...

I have too much respect for Nick H. He's like iam7head, who has been here for what seems like for ever.

However, the Kalvin rating, does not refer to degree Kelvin [also know as absolute temperature] Kelvin is an absolute temperature, because it actually has a starting point at zero degrees; in other words there is no negative Kelvin degrees. At 273.18 Kelvin water freezes/melts, and at 373.18 Kelvin water boils. So from a difference of 100 degrees water is at one point ice and the other vapor. Now, do you honestly think that HID bulbs would produce 6000 degrees Kelvin? That temperature would melt and vaporize the car.

To my knowledge, HID bulbs draw less wattage.
Try to touch a a 40W bulb in your house, and a 75W bulb and you will know the difference.

Hope this clears it up.

No. Bad.</TD></TR></TABLE> Well depending upon what he wants to do if he is going for the retrofit, then go with the 4300K. But if he is just putting an HID kit into a stock housing 5000k (Yellowish/white) or 6000k (whiteish/a little bit of blue) is nice, 8000k (bluish/white) is ok but loose more output then 5000 and 6000K. Thats my 2 cents, not argueing with you but aftermarket is cheaper then OEM HID kit.

Depending on what you're doing, it costs about 250 for an HID kit, and an entire HID retrofit, projectors and all, from HIDplanet.com, is 370+ shipping, or you could piece it togethr from used OEM parts for cheaper. Not bad enough difference to warrant the cheaper, less effective one.

OK.

There is no yellow at 4300K. If you see yellow, it would be around the cut-off and it's because of your projector, not the bulb. You can either go for a better projector or modify it, so the little yellow that you might see disappears.
