Spoon tuned ITR
Hi! I have an ITR that I drive daily. I want to do some engine mods to gain some power, but still retain reliability and driveability. How about a Spoon setup with header, exhaust, headgasket, cams, camgears, valve springs and CPU? How much whp can I expect from these modifications?
you want to replace you header, exhaust, head gasket, cams, cam gears, valve springs, and ecu with all spoon parts? Spoon products are nice but you can get quality parts for a lot cheaper and make more power.
i.e. Buddy Club, Rocket Motorsports, Skunk2
my personal preference for a Type R would be civic type r cams (you already have the correct valve train) 2.5 inch mandrel bent exhaust es tuning oval muffler (black), jdm type R header, and a decent high flow intake. wouldn't make significant power gains but it would definitely be a start.
your type R ecu will work well with this set up

I would say first off, what are your goals and what is your budget? Do you have any know-how to install parts? Tell us this and we can point you in the right direction
first, what are you building the car for? spoon is mainly foucsed on endurance racing...6, 12, 25 hours at a time. they do built "fast/ more powerful" motors but cost waaaayyyy too much $$$
if you don't mind spending $$$ on quality parts, i recomend toda!!!

Yeah Spoon isn't gonna be your fastest car on the street. Allot of their parts are balanced OEM Honda parts. If you're looking for a quick street car, I personally would dump some PCT pistons(CTR) in the block, throw some M22x, Jun 3 or S2 Pro1's at the head, RM gen 2 valvetrain, GE cam gears with H-Data S200 and have it tuned with an SMS header on it and some sort of free flowing exhaust. Also maybe some RC 310cc injectors and a fuel pump to back all that up, that would be a QUICK street car

It would be interesting though to see what kind of #s you make with a complete Spoon setup.</TD></TR></TABLE>
spoon set-up won't log any more than 190-195 whp...
just get junIII's...jdm itr header...fuelpump...injectors...2.5 exhaust...hondata and you'll push 200+ all day long on 91octane at 9000rpm+
