Alright then i would go with the type-r because ive installed a bunch in cars and i have one myself and ive never had a problem. The jl is also a nice sub but they are more for power the quality imo!

I have a type r 12 in my integra and I love it. I can trun my sub level down when im going for SQ and I can turn it all the way up when I'm going for SPL. Doesnt distort at all. I would say go for the type r because it is overall a good sub and covers all corners very well!
