Default Just lowered car and had a few questions

Well we got done with lowering it i go to start car for a test drive and somehow alternator pulley is rubbing??? had no problems with it before so whatever just pounded that out somemore and when i drove it alighnment is way off. I'm guessing the alighnment way off it normal but would that cause the car to vibrate when accelerating??? When i take my foot off the gas the vibration stops? is this just my alighnment or could it be something else???

Are you sure the rumbling/vibration isnt just the stiffer springs?

yes, my rack was shot and I felt the vib constantly. you have two choices, go to junk yard and buy a old *** rack, or go to honda and buy one for 441$. You wont find a manaul steering rack at any parts store but honda. I had to buy it from honda, and it killed me. Also, I would get two new tie rods while your at it. There not to bad, oh yeah, how much did you lower and how bad is the camber off

not sure how many inches but it has just a little bit of tire tuck going. The camber is kinda bad was thinking about raising it back up tomorrow and seeing if this solves my problems

a lot of times, an upper ball joint(a-arm) is bad and causes to shake also, dont wanna play message tag so i'm gonna just assume. To check if your upper joint is bad, grab the rim or the tire, and pull in and out, if you feel play as your pulling and pushing, your upper joint is bad. or jack the car up and pull on the control arm, either way, but man, i tell ya, i had to replace upper and lower joints, my rack, and my tie rods to get a good handle on the front end. then my homeboy had to do a 4 hour alignment job on the front and rear end. camber is a bitch, but its gotta be done. get all new bushings also, sway bar, shock tower, you know, lower joint, tie rod bushing, their real cheap from the honda dealer.(oem) hope this helps. good luck has your car been in a wreck? oh one more thing, how are your axels, if they havent been replaced, then maybe the torque from lowering it is affecting the axels. You said when you give it gas, it vibrates. you can take it up to 80 on the freeway, put it in neutral and see if the vibrating stops.

Hey thank you redryder for all your help i think it is the stress on the axles like you suggested because the more i raise it the less it vibrates.

I can't believe nobody said something about this
Lowering will not affect the engine position in the engine bay. You alternator should not have changed position, it's possible you tore a motor mount bushing (not by lowering) and your engine moved because of that. And that would cause an intense vibration in the car. but it would be constant, not only when moving.

That is exactly what i thought with the pulley. At least the it's impossible part i don't know how but before we lowered it pulley had no clearance issues but after it rubbed so bad car would die. So about the mount bushing thing would you think that i might have done that?? When you said not only while moving you meant not only while accelarating right???

look at your mounts on the driver's side, tranny mount, and on the rear of motor. Look and see if there is any more rubber left inside the mount. I wish I could post pics, but I dont know how. Or you can pop your hood, give it some gas, and see how much play you have in the motor when you gas it. (throttle body) Mine was an automatic so I just put it in gear, and the damn thing nearly came out.
