Default Car bogs, what's going on?

I need a little help. It's not a honda but I've been around this forum for a while and know that there are some knowledgeable people here. My car is a toyota corolla with a silvertop 4ag engine. It somes stock with ITB's and I'm running a standalone. Here's the situation:
I drove out to willow springs yesterday and noticed that the car tends to bog going up hills. Since willow springs is at a higher altitude (probably 1500 feet or so) than my place I was wondering if that would make a difference. I know altitude makes a difference on carbs, but it doesn't seem like it would matter too much on my car, especially since its only 15000 ft higher in altitude. Then I was thinking that it may be because the car is under load because I feel the bog when going up hills (but I also feel it sometimes when going around town). I'm not sure if my car was tuned with speed-density or alpha-n. I've read that alpha-n can cause problems in calculating the right fuel under load. It just seems wierd that my car runs great at home, but the two times I have been to Willow Springs, the car has had problems bogging. Or maybe the boggin could be something completly different. Any input would be appreciated.
