Default auto meter gauge installation

I am in the middle of installing auto meter gauges in my crx. i am running an ls/vtec. the problem i am having at the moment is intalling the water temp gauge. there are two sensors on the engine. the tw sensor and the coolant temp sensor. I know that one tells the ecu how hot the engine is and the other one is for the gauges (i think). I need to know where to put the sensor for the auto meter gauge. can i just take the coolant temp sensor out and put this on in. I know that will stop the gauge from working on my type-r gauge cluster but it does not bother me. so basically my question is which one do i take out? which one is not for the ecu? the one with two wires coming out or the one with one wire?

now as for the oil pressure. where can i put the sending unit?

You can not take any sensors out and just put that one in, and you can not tap into a stock sensor. You can do what I did an t into a coolant line, for the best reading.

When the search comes up, I will take a look for the pics I posted up.

your oil pressure sender can go on two different way

1) take out the stock sender (next to the oil filter) and screw in the autometer sender
or
2) get a t fitting and have both senders on the t fitting

Do not mount the oil pressure sending unit on the block, it will break off.

what is the chance that it will break off? cuase I know have two T's on the block. i have the stock oil sending unit, then it goes to the autometer oil sending unit on the the next T and then finishes with the steel braided line to the head for my Vtec. would this be a bad setup? cause i no of no other way of having all of these on the block. woudl it make a big difference if i ran a steel braided line from the second T to the firewall and mount the autometer sending unit there?

I have seen it happen to, two people. One broke off during highway driving, he saw the oil pressure drop and he killed the engine.

Its not worth it.

but would it all be safe how i have it but instead just mount the oil sending unit on the firewall and run a line to it?

No No and no.

Do it this way. This is the best way out there. You can get the stainless line and the correct fitting (BSPT) from H-T user "Flemenco-t" (not sure on the spelling of his name).

Check this thread for details and pics of my install. Do it right the first time and you won't have a cracked block or something wAcK like that yO!
