Eclipse 8443 Install question
I'm installing this unit I bought off ebay. It looks to be in great shape and everything seems to work except that there seems to be no output on the "non fader out" channel (going to the sub). I've switched the RCA's going to the sub amp into the rear channel and that works, so it isn't a problem with that amp, speaker cable or speaker. I've run the level on the head unit for the non fader out all the way up....nothing.
Is there a way to ck the output from this channel (for a novice with a volt/ohm meter) that someone could tell me about. If posting a reply, please be very specific on what to do as I don't know much about this (as you can probably tell).

I see no need to check the output, as you have already done what I would have done if the car had come to my shop, [change the ouputs] you did, and it works, so that means there is no output on the non fading outputs, and unless there is some kind of off/on switch for it, [I don't remember there being one] the non fading outputs are N/G, one thing you can check for is ground, most preamp outputs have a common ground, test for this with the multimeter by testing for continuity, set meter to continuity, that's the one that if you touch the probes together it meter will read 000, or very close, ["dead short"] and it should "beep", touch one probe to the chassis, [case] of the HU and the other to the RCA outputs sig. return, [ground] the outside part of the RCA term., it should read 000 and beep, also try one probe to each RCA "ground" it should also read 000 and beep at you.
