Can a slotted rotor be "turned"??
My rotors are warped and I need to get them turned. Every place I go they say they won't touch them. I uderstand their logic, saying the slots will break their cutting tip.
BUT, what about cars that have OEM slotted or cross-drilled rotors, what do they do? Just buy new rotors?

i have the same problem. i have to go back to a&j to get my spoon rotors turned because they are the only ones who have a machine shop they deal with that will do it
if they take off only a thousandth at a time per side it probably wont damage the bit. I've cut slotted before but it takes forever. Like ten passes or so.
they can be turned, but no one will turn them a conventional brake lathe, because the bit costs a lot more than what you are paying for the service...
you have to go to a place that turns flywheels, i.e. a machine shop...
I personally don't know what the diferance is, but that is where I get mine turned...
peolpe that have cars with factory slotted/drilled rotors (like porche etc.) do just replace them with a brake change...
