Default took built b20-v to track the other day. not that happy.

well i took the crx to the track the other day. It has a basic hondata tune and is burning kinda rich. Setup is b20 block eagle rods, 12.5:1 je's. b16a head mild port polish, crower stage 3's, skunk manifold, greddy header, all the bolt on's etc. I ran a 14.2@100mph w/ 200+lb person in the car. couldn't get traction at all off the line here's the specs...
r/t .615 (i know i was sleeping)
60' 2.400
330 6.261
1/8 9.344
mph 80.41
1000 11.994
1/4 14.249 @100.77

next time i'm gonna try with slicks and get my hondata launch control working. I also have a traction bar i'm gonna throw on. anyone have any suggestions or dealt w/ hondata's launch control?

well...ur mph's are decent....but your 60's are killing your times...
with some decent street tires...a 2.1 or 2.2 isnt out of the question..that'll drop your time alot right there...
if your going on slicks and are able to pull off a 1.6-1.7....you'll see some really good times...
how much power are you making???
and what tranny are you using?

looking at around 190-200whp tops as of now. It still needs more tuning. I'm using a cable b16 tranny Y1.

100 mph = mid 13s. i think your front bumper is holding you back. kidding.

190hp? what kind of torque?

i'm not a fan of body kits at all either. Car was stolen and crashed so i went the easy way out
The hp ratings i gave are just a rough estimate. The car hasn't been dynoed at all so i can't give an exact # on torque. But you know how much torque the b20 puts out so it's a decent amount. If only i can stop peeling and wheel hopping

I don't see why you would be "not happy" with the time you ran. Cause your ET and 1/4 time shows you must have been slipping and not gripping. Get better tires and go, also if you have stock axles, watch them with the grippy tires.

well i was hoping to hit high 13's at least with the setup. i do have stock axles so i'm gonna have to watch out. i'll be running it again next week hopefully to see what i can get out of it. Then the engine's going up for sale since i'm going all out with a k20

with some good traction..your trap speed is good for a 13 second pass....
as for your power.... i think that you should really get your set up tuned...esp since peak numbers are total BS without a good power curve.
might wnat to think about some other parts....
clutch...are you slipping?
lsd....
traction bars..i know you said you'll throw em on..but i heard they work wonders.
better tires....btw what tires were you on before?
suspension...what are you running??
are you on heavy *** wheels

personally, i think something is wrong somwhere besides your motor...
your making the power, your traps are proof of that...

clutch...are you slipping?-not slipping. got a act streetdisc clutch(non-pucked)

lsd.... No lsd. Just a y1 b16 cable tranny

traction bars..i know you said you'll throw em on..but i heard they work wonders.-i have an avid traction bar that's been sitting here for a while...just didn't have a chance to put it on yet.

better tires....btw what tires were you on before?- i was using kuhmo tires on 17" black rims

suspension...what are you running??-tokico illumina's. neuspeed springs, complete energy suspension polyurethane bushings.

I know how you feel, don't feel too bad. For reference here are my also somewhat disappointing times. My setup= 91 hatch 2100 lbs + 203whp = 13.9@102 so as you can see i also seem to have less than stellar results. Keep this in mind, usually what the magazines get out of cars is never what anyone will get . I raced a stock 05 Sti, with a 2.0 60' he only managed a 14.5@95, a new stock retro mustang i lined up with only pulled a 14.1 w/ a 2.1 60'. So when you go see how other cars are doing so you can guage if its the track/conditions that are hurting you. I have noticed my local track seems everyone runs slower than normal, so i expect it.

since you have illuminas and they are adjustable try to soften them up to the max in the front and stifffen them in the rear put 15s on it and buy either drag radials or slicks then have your motor TUNED add that traction bar then go out and enjoy low 13s or even possible high 12s

You should definitely run slicks now. 60 foot time alone will put you close to a twelve .

Dang, no fair. how you get all those extra mph? Good job i'm jealous. I need higher traps, but you are doing good now. You have the traps for 12's.
