Sportbike has a list of all the actual suspension settings they used when testing bikes since 1997.

They also have a section on suspension tech and tuning guide - Tech Section

If you are completely lost on it to start out with (I know I was when I started trying to set them up) then sport rider is a good place to start. Throw theirs in and then read the entire tech and tuning guide and go from there. Sag is by far one of the most important measurements to take though. It takes time but if there is no one around to give you a hand, you can manage and learn somewhat on your own.
