okay before you say ouch and your a dum @$# you should here about the set up i had jsrc supercharger on a fully rebuilt d16a6, every thing and any thing you can think of was upgraded exept any thing duing with fuel (#1 mustake) pic before the blow up.



then when i saw my step dads chevell with water injection system i was like dam that keeps the car alot cooler and cleans out the insides of the engine so i was like hey y dont i try that. well when i got it working it was doing its purpose and cooling the car but when i heard that boost could be added by switching the water with something else such as methonal, alcohal, propane,ect. i desided to mess around with methonal, aaaaaaaawwwwwww you should of seen it i was pushing so much boost that it blew two of my vacumm lines right off the supercharger, i was doing 90 in 4th gear it was nuts. after i fixed the lines. i went for another run and the car started to detonate went around a corner and then boom a blow rod. well enough of that here are the pics.










well i dont recomend using water injection if your going to use some thing other then water.

i can hit 90 in 3rd gear on my stock d15 automatic . should i be doing more?

Not sure if detonation was really the issue. If you meant to type "on a fully BUILT d16a6", I'd say it may be the case. If the sentence was supposed to read "on a fully REbuilt d16a6", then it was probably too much power for the rods/pistons. D16a6 rods may be beefy for d16's, but they're prone to failure over 200whp with anything but a great tune, especially with a non-intercooled supercharger.

This reminds me of the kid that plays with fireworks. Just because a single black cat won't blow your finger off doesn't mean a quarter-stick of tnt won't either.

 

if you are detonating, you'd better have a diesel engine or you are doing damageto your motor.

90 in 4th can you say over rev. unless of course you had a hf tranny.
do you even know what water injection is for? it doesn't keep the car cooler and doesnt clean anything. the sole purpose of water injection is to stop pre-detonation.

well then maybe you should have done a little more research on your build up before throwing everything together and blowing your motor. unless of course you don't care about that motor and plan on doing a swap or another d series. i, however, would have at least done a little research on the subject if it was the first time for me to try something.
