Default >> Please Help, Axle Nut problem... Can't get it off <<

Look at this, I can't get that middle Axle nut off...

I have the 32MM Axle Nut Socket ( had 34mm but it didnt fit ).
I got this nice Impact wrench and all, and the axle nut doesnt move at all.

What I did to the car .... i basically just too the bolts off of the brake lines that were held onto the arm, if that matters. Also, In the middle of the axle nut there was a bent piece in the middle, I "un-bent" it and all.. any suggestions?

*Yes, it is a integra suspension, I put it in EG cause people read here more and its the same ****

Not if the axle nut has been on for 15 years. Trying to take the axle nut off my friend's 90 Integra, we used a breaker bar with like an 8 ft extension. It snapped the breaker bar.

Nah, I was planning to swap the whole knuckle (due to new ball joints) to change brakes, but instead we changed just the rotors and pads.

soak it in wd40 and let it sit, then spray some more and let it sit. Hit it with the impact and if that doesnt work, get a torch, heat it up for a while and hit it with the impact.

not trying to be a smart *** or anything, and I couldn't tell from the pic, you did pry the edge of the axle nut that was tapped down to keep it from turning? just throwing that in.

We did the exact same thing. We heated then bolt and then it was easy to take out.

True that. We broke a Craftsman and a Snap-On breaker bar trying to get one of my axle nuts off once. Eventually we just took the hub over to my friends shop where he was able to take it off very easily and for no charge.

i tried all the tips when i did my swap.....in the end i got my dad to drill a hole and chisel the **** out of it.....it relieved the tighness and then i just took a 380 impact gun to it

i was told this thing needed a 1000 ft/lb impact gun to remove at times.

try soaking it in "PB Blaster" , and hitting with a good 600ft-lbs+ impact gun. If that doesn't work try heating it up with a torch.

Thanks for all the tips guys, and .... I managed to get it off!! Easy as pie..

Go to Autozone and they got a Blow Torch kit for like $19.99 lol, WD-40 it then burn the bitch for 3-5 minutes and let the Impact wrench do its job. I was happy when it came off lmao

thanks HT!!
