axle not flush wiith transmission case
axle not flush wiith transmission case, it sits about 1/4" out of the transmission. my fluid is pretty much empty after 1 week. I tried pushing pretty hard but it doesnt want to go in any further.
had the same problem the other day. I noticed the set clip was poking out on one side of shaft. So I put a little more grease on to set the clip in the middle of the shaft, then shuved the shaft in. It took about 10 tries to get it in. At first it was sticking out like yours, but I kept trying. I about gave up, then it went in. So point is, gotta keep trying. I thought at first i got the wrong shaft, but I didnt. Man, now you gotts redo the whole thing, sucks.
the circlip does create resistance from getting it in the whole way, but its job is to resist the axle from pulling out! so you need that in there as well. just keep trying like redryder said. use more than just your hands.
if you seriously want to get gorilla, separate the lower balljoint and tie rod, and just swing the whole knuckle into the tranny... but a block of wood and hammer will work just fine.

well i put some grease to hold the clip centered, slid it in and bang on it with a hammer for a while, honestly thinking of doing the gorilla method...

i had to do so much extra sht to get mine off, the hell with getting it back in. I had to even take my a-arm anchor bolts out to get the spindle to fall down . My axel was just barely out before i took the anchoe bolts down.

This method worked the first time i put it on. i put everything in place and then pushed the knuckle into the shaft. click! it was done.

well, the only thing i could see was the end of the axle going into the transmission was getting beat. Im wondering if the bar at the end of the hole in the tranny (differential maybe?) is blocking it or the remanufactured axle splines are too long... anyone ever experience this?

wrong qoute, i meant to use this one

ive tried hammering it, the inside end of the splines are just getting smashed, but nothing too bad, it still sticks out 1/8"
last one i had was sticking out the same, but it too was a remanufactured autozone axle. i seen a post about std axles being listed wrong @ autozone, but i wonder is si axles are too.
they do fit in the hub, just sticking out about 1/8". Ive came to conclusion something is wrong in tranny, maybe differential
