B16A motor build questions
OK I scrapped my mini-me project to fund my new B16 turbo motor and found some problems with it already. I only paid $250 for the complete motor, ecu, mounts, and shift linkage so I figured there had to be something wrong. As it turns out there is a pretty good amount of rust on the cylinder walls due to the motor sitting with bad plug seals and water leaking in. I had taken the head off to go to the machine shop for a p&p and 5 angle valve job but now my focus is on the block. I read about posting but I don't wanna be cheap so I think I may go sleeved. Now my question is what is involved in the process because I don't know who to buy from or which bore to go with. I plan on upgrading crank, getting low comp pistons, and better bearings also. This will be a street car but not daily driver. I've heard something about going overbore so that if you have had your valves angled more air can flow otherwise its not worth overboring. I plan on running high boost @ all times and I would rather be safe than sorry on all aspects so if someone else has a set-up similar I could use some help. Thanks for taking the time to read.
you'd probably get a lot better response in the forced induction forumn. also a lot of these subjects have been covered before. use the search option........it'll help you out more than you know.
