Default JDM RPM gauge into USDM cluster.. has anyone done this?

The reason i am asking is that the JDM RPM cluster has a 9.5k rpm. The US cluster only goes to 8k.

I rev my engine to 9k, but i really dont want an aftermarket tach or to use the whole JDM cluster (im really not into kilometers an hour at all).

I know somebody has done something like this.. Help me out.

Phil.

Your only bet in mph for an oem cluster is a UK one. They are rare of coarse, and go for big bucks. Search on ebay, your sure to find one within a couple weeks.

Or, you could do a cluster swap from another car.

If you already have both pieces then try it. There is a whole set of instructions for replacing each part of the gauge cluster in the service manual, and you can probably find that online somewhere for free if you don't already own one yourself.
