15x8, +25 offset on my eg
the wheels i am gonna buy on friday are special order and i originally wanted 15x7, +25 wheels..but they will take 60-90 days to be delivered due to the finish i ordered and the width...the place im buying them from has a 15x8, +25 set of wheels i want with the finish i want and they can ship them asap and ill have them in about a week after they recieve payment...
my question is..will a 15x8 with a +25 offset work on my eg?
or should i stick with what i know works(15x7, +25)?
id like the 15x8 because the width and they are readily available..i know im gonna have to use a 3-5mm spacer in the front with the 15x7 so im pretty sure ill have to use a 5-9mm spacer with the 15x8's
any information or advice?
here is a pic of a DA with a 15x8, +20 in front(think it might also have 5mm spacers)

I don't know for sure, but I would be concerned that they might rub, and that they might be too wide for the proper size tire for my car. For example, the best 15" size for most Civics is 195/50-15, but that size is usually approved only for rim widths of 5.5-7.0 inches, and shouldn't be mounted on a 15x8 wheel. Even most 205/50-15 tires shouldn't be mounted on a 15x8 wheel.
this is gonna be a task for you to fit a 15x8 id be interested in seeing a final product and am glad its you and not me... let the flaring begin
A few things I can see:
1. 15x8 is going to rub.
2. Its going to handle like a bang of ****.. I guess in the US you dont have 'corners' like over here.

1. rubbing is an easy fix.
2. how do you know how its gonna handle?..do you have personal experience?..i guess "over there" you dont learn to spell in school.
i decided to stick with the 15x7 +25
(195/50/15 tire will fit better)

are you sure that DA has 15x8's on? I remember they were for sale, they said they were 15x7 +20 offset. Do you have flares?
heres my DA w/ 15x7 w/ a 20 offset no spacers

the tire will rub,but fixable. the offset is perfect!
either run a 205-50-15 or 225-45-15 (only avail in a dot-r compound)

Nope, only listed avail in (on Yoko site in the states) in a 225-50-15. too tall, already went that route. all kinds of rubbing issues before travel runs out.
oh,but toyo did make a 215-45-15in the old t1-s and the t1r

will always rub on very hard turns on the inner side of the fender(chassis side)
rolling the fenders will take care of outer fender. rolled enough to be called flared.
not for the faint of heart, but neither are 15x8 on a civic. this will clear the upright on anything other than a hoosier, which is very wide for a 225.

that should work. the +25 on 15x8 is 5" backspace which is spot on for a 8" wheel. but will take some work to roll fender (and possible need to slightly flare). will need a fender roller to pull off smooth. use heat gun on the paint to stop cracking and work slow. i take no reposibility for boogered(sp) up fenders.

if you can find someone or a shop with a roller(bolts to hub and has a threaded adjustment) then no.
the baseball bat trick works but can turn out wavy.
the roller allows small amount of adjust for each pass. similare to a manual pipe cutter.
i borrowed one from a friend in a vw club that bought one for club use from harbor freight.
just check with a high end wheel shop thet does bling bling wheels on expensive cars
