HELP: need your guys' advice on selling my R
Ok. I am planning on selling my R here in the next few weeks but need some advice on the best way to sell it. I bought this car as a shell only and basically rebuilt it to what it is now. It is a 2000 PY ITR. I basically had to put a new complete engine/trans, suspension & interior. Believe it or not, IT IS A CLEAN TITLE SHELL which is why i picked it up.
ISSUES:
1-it is a 2000(as stated) but i have the 97 bumpers on it which is how i got it. I have the replacement bumpers for it but i am not sure if i should put them on or sell them separately being that i would have to repaint the whole car so everything will match. Since i am selling the car, i dont know if i should spend 2-3k on a paint job.
2-so that i can get the car running and being able to use it daily, i picked up a 2000 GSR front and rear suspension(4-lug). Also it helped alittle on wait savings at the track and the various wheel styles i can put on the car. Should i spend another 1k for 5 lug?
3-engine. I currently have a 2.0L GSR built by bubba(teamgendai) that i picked up w/ zero miles on it when i got. Would it be a good idea to get a JDM ITR block for it or just sell it w/ the car?
These are my primary issues i need to address when selling my car. I was thinking if i can sell my car AS IS for around 15k that i might consider it.
Opinions and advice are welcomed. If you want to flame me for this post, dont bother. I figure the best people to ask regarding this situtation is people that have a Type R or have had previous ownership of 1.
Thanks for your time and opinions

1. Get the 98-01 bumpers. Bumper can go for 100-200 each used and 1-200 to spray each one.
2. I would pick up a JDM 4x114.3 that goes for $700 + or - with wheels and sell off the gsr brakes just to say it's JDM ITR instead of USDM GSR.
3. Keep the engine unless you've found a JDM ITR that's cheaper than the current engine or you plan to keep it for another car.

Jowee - thanks for the input. I found someone that can paint my whole R for 2k w/ door jabs w/ good paint. I have the bumpers already but i was just waiting on if i was going to do a JDM Front end on my car then have done all at once. that is why i havent put the US bumpers on as of yet.
ITR1244 - i have decided already to sell my R to fund a new project of mine that i have been longing to do for a really long time.

I think he meant there are too many non-R parts on that to carry a Type-R pricetag. The biggest thing people look for when they are buying these cars is the original parts. The more original and stock, the better chance you have of selling it for a decent price.
I wouldn't expect a lot of $$ out of this car.

atleast make sure you have the 98-01 bumpers on it, if you can find a decent priced itr swap that would be a good idea as well, 4x114 conversion what somebody suggested would be a good idea unless you pick up 5lug,
the engine can stay if you dont want to keep that swap, but with all the non type r parts on the car your not going to get very much money with 2.0 gsr or not
what kind of interior does the car have??

It has the stock OEM ITR interior in it so that is no big deal.
As i stated, i do have the bumpers just a question of if it is a wise idea to spend 4-500 on painting them to raise the resale value.
4x114.3 lug pattern? not a bad idea. Jowee. might have to do alittle shopping for 1.

Maybe 300 for both bumpers. Don't forget about the lip though. And yes correct body panels can sometimes mean a thousand bucks over incorrect ones.

Fortunately they're dirt cheap, and everyone seems to carry them.

Don't forget you need 98-01 headlights as well.

There are so many stories attached to your car that I could not even figure out from your post what engine it had in it.
And you don't list chassis miles, which are the most important factor in market value.
What are 'wait savings' and what do they have to do with a 4-lug suspension?

IMO I'd pick up he 5-lug and sell the GSR stuff, then try to get some ITR wheels.
Do you have a dyno print-out for the motor? If its a fresh, strong motor and you have proof I'm sure the buyer wouldn't mind some extra ooomph. The 4 lug seems a bit ghetto but otherwise I don't see a problem.

Chassis miles has less than 60k on it. I actually got original cluster when i got the car.
Weight savings meaning, the current GSR suspension i have now is lighter than the ITR 5 lug suspension.

I have a base run printout no problem w/ that. Yes it is a very strong motor considering i used a thicker head gasket to lower the CR since i drive it daily. My 3 base runs were in the low 220's hp and 159-161 trq.
Thanks to all for your advice.

I think it would be hard to get 15k for the car without dumping a grip into it. If you got the 4 lug then you would have to buy the wheels to go along with it. Unless youre gonna throw some accord wheels on it. You need the turn signals if you dont have them already, then paint. I'd atleast do the rear bumper because people dont change them. Motor is fine, alothough it does lower the price.
Lets say you put the bumpers back on and get them painted 300 bucks, then 4 lug, 700 bucks, then wheels, atleast 500. Right there youre at 1500, and thats cheap. Do that and you might be able to 15k but not likely. Just my opinion though.

that is alot along the lines i was thinking of. My other thought was just to sell it as is for maybe 11-12k that way i dont have to worry about any of the other parts that i will have to add since it might not be guaranteed that i will get 15k if i do all those changes. I know a few peeps in town that would pay that much for my car as is or even if i put a JDM ITR motor in it.
Like i mentioned earlier, i am just tossing the ideas on what the best way i can sell my R
Thanks walker
