vtec cutting out
on my obd0 b16a in my crx i have a chipped pr3 ecu running it and it has run fine for the last 6 months chipped.. now all the sudden when i slam 2nd gear vtec will disengage and i will hit a fuel cut rev limit at 7k rpm. this alsom happens on 2nd and 3rd gear pulls but it doesn't always hit that fuel cut rev limit.. also the vtec is in and out some times and if i jump on and off the throttle a few times after i hit that rev limit it will let me past 7 ... very strange.. i know to check the little screen, and check the oil, and try a stock chip in the ecu.. but does anyone have any other recomendations for this problem because its drivin me crazy how this happens all the sudden now.. thanks in advance for any help
i already cleaned the little screen in the vtec solenoid, took out my ecu chip and put a stock chip back in the socket. checked all the electric connections.. and no i am not at all low on oil. after about 30 runs last night from a stop i discover it ONLY does this in second gear and only when i SLAM 2nd.. any help??
NO check engine light either, even when it is bouncing off of that 7 grand rev limit in non-vtec..

really need help here.. i have searched hard core to no avail.. i got one morew thing to try before i don't know what else to do and that is hook up an oil pressure gauge up at my vtec solinoid and see if it is loosing oil pressure.. ONE MORE QUESTION i know GM vehicles have a sensor that makes the car go into safe mode if oil pressure drops enough.. honda does not have this as far as i know so i am just asking to be sure. thanks
check all engine grounds we had the same problem in a friends b18c1 powered eg hatch i checked everything and everything seemed to be fine so i couldnt figure it out but there was a ground strap arcing because it was partially disconnected and once i reconected it the car worked fine
oh and by the way his car was doing the exact same thing as yours
