Default Little mod, so what the hell.

Ok, so my 00'' si is bone stock and a friend of mine is looking to sell me his 4-1 mugen header, without flange. Anyhow, im looking to buy it for 2 bill as we agreed already. What proformance im I looking at with just this header installed. Remember, everything else is stock.

Also, looking to buy iridium spark plugs and some nkg wires as well. Any differencewith that?

Thanks,
KLo

your going to see 0- 1 or 2 max hp gains. you can't expect it to make any power if you haven't fixed the most restrictive part of the exhaust first (The cat) once you have a decent straight through, you'll see some better gains. Headers arent about max HP gains anyway, their about better torque curves.

what they really mean, i that the headers are a good idea.... but without the rest of the exaust system, your gains will be minimal.

It's sort of like blowing through a straw, and pinching it off with your fingers. (your fingers = cat) So you need to go with something less restrictive (high flow cat... or be ghetto and hollow yours out) That will give you better numbers. And please, please, please get a resinator if one isnt already there, because no one wants to hear (CRACKLE CRACKLE CRACKLE) when you hit 3,500-4,000rpms.. and to finish it off, 2 1/4 or 2 1/2 piping to a preformance muffler(that you can purchase anywhere except advanced auto for 40$)

no doubt, if you pick up the mugen header get a intake and full exhaust or else your gains will be worthless and not worthwhile,

i cannot wait to have my cat taken off my new hatch, although i wont really know the difference becaus i wont be driving it with one before its taken off...

that is when i fix the electrical problem i have currently

Thanks for the answers guys.

So it sound like I will need 2.5 piping front to back with a good muffler.
Now my broke *** will need a good catback system, if thats the correct part.
Any good brand for performnace and cheap??? I mean cheap cheap.

Thanks,

Klo

Cheap Cheap? Run open header.

No honda fan will wanna see a arospeed or ractive muffer on an SI with a Mugen Header.

I would just stay stock for awile, save money for good Cat-Back, or good canister w/ custom 2.5 piping.

Look around the classifieds. I got my HKS, which usually runs around $800 new, for $100.
