just to let you know, if you free up the exhaust to much, your going to lose low end torque for minimal high end hp

You shouldn't really hijack somebody else's thread, but i guess its better you did it this way than to start a new thread because there are quite a bit on this topic. If you're looking for a cheap header, check ebay, there are a TON of them on there, just make sure you read the descriptions carefully, make sure they come with all the hardware. Beware though, because you get what you pay for. Now if you're looking to get a quality header, check the for sale thread at the top of the page. People sell used ones all the time in pretty decent condition.

Nice as in nice looking or nice as in good quality? I personally wouldn't but a generic header off ebay. Chances are it's not going to fit right, or the piping is going to be really thin, or the welds are going to be absolute **** done by some 12 year old chinese kid. If you keep an eye out you'll find a good used one from DC or Greddy come up on HT or ebay and you can get ahold of it for a reasonable price.

I hear the Megan racing headers are decent for a good price, any input on those?

(didnt want to hijack this thread but i figured it was a pretty dead thread and why start a new one)

yes, but it was started for a 00 V6 accord. It would have been better to bring up one of the many 4cyl header threads that are in the forum. But whats done is done, nothing you can do now, just keep it in mind for the next time. for searching instead of just creating a new thread though.

Thanks.

I found an OBX racing stainless steel header on ebay and it comes with all of the additional equipment necessary to install it, any word on OBX racing? Is it basic generic stuff? I just want to have a header because the one I have right now has run its course, and I dont know much longer i'll have the car, any input?

One other question, which is better to get, ceramic or stainless steel?

I don't know about OBX, I haven't bought anything from them.

It's not so much the materials I would be worried about with some of these eBay/generic/not well known headers, I would be worried about the welds cracking and just the general build quality.

You could try finding a 94-97 EX header, supposed to be just as good as the DC header and OEM is always nice. Unless you are looking for something shiny under the hood

I dont really care for the aesthetic as much as I care for it not rusting like the current one I have. The car is a 94 LX and I was gonna ask if an EX header would line up perfectly on an LX?

yes, it'll fit. You just have to extend the O2 wires down behind the block because the EX has the O2 sensor located towards the end of the downpipe section instead of in the primary's like the LX, DX does.

For what it's worth, I bought the megan's from an authorized rep, and there is an annoying buzzing sound during some RPM ranges.

It was the latest batch and was supposed to be perfect. I do know that many people have them and either dont have that sound or don't mind it. I can't stand it though and will be removing them very soon

The thing im wondering is that if I get the EX headers from Megan, im not too familiar with how to extend the wiring for the O2 sensor, is it something that can be spliced and lengthened or does it require more complex work than that?
