Default b16 Hatch running rich

I have a 94 hatch with a JDM b16 with i/h/e, IM, no cat, GSR ECU.

The car gets really crappy MPG(25) and when vtec cracks I get alot of black smoke. When i bought the car it didnt have an O2 sensor hooked up so I welded a bung and put one in.

Also when I hit around 5k the CEL comes on and stays on. I tried to jump the connector to get the code but none come up. Anyone have any ideas?

It really depend on what chip you have in there. Most chip out there are imition and will run rich. The only way to make power is to get your car tune. A vafc will help, but you will still need to jump on the dyno to make adjustment.
