I have a home made setup on my oil return and right now the fitting is bolted on but leaks like a mother. I wanted to take it to get it welded today, but i'm using a brass elbow on the outside which can only be brazed to steel i believe? I'm pretty sure that what our oil pans are, but i wanted to double check.

 

yes you need to have it brazed.

 

 

be sure when they weld it not to warp the pan...i have a couple people i know and their oil pans leak like no other due from warpage..

I'm taking it to a welding shop, so i hope the guy knows enough to be careful with it. It got a lil warped when i put it together cause that brass elbow turned on me a few degrees and pushed up on the outer lip of the pan.
