distributor stuck in head!
My b16 distributor took a dump on me the other day. So I had a spare obd0 ls distributor laying around so I put that on the car. The car won't rev past 5K and then it starts to buck and I have the timing correct. I retarded it as much as it will go even to see if that is the problem. So I finally decided to take it off and but now it won't come out of the head. The distributor is literally stuck in the head sticking out about 1/4" after I tried to get it out but that is far as it will go. Any suggestions on how to get it out and I have never seen this before. I searched and it didn't get anything which really worries me.
I tried a pry bar but I dont' want to damage anything. I didn't put it in backwards it slide right in. I had to break off one of the brackets on the ls distributor for it to work, but that is what everyone does to make this work. It slide in easy but now it doesn't want to come out. I really don't want to remove the cam caps holders. You can't put a distributor in backwards my friend.

You most definitely can put it in 180 backwards on obd2 and from the looks of my OBD 0 dizzy i have lying around it looks like it could go in backwards too. The notch is offset but it will slide in with a little bit of effort (i tried it on mine just to see if you could do it)
I'd pry it again, and just make sure it's not hung up on anything. Just give it one quick tug and pray nothing bad happens
Other wise, pull the valve cover, and then the proceed with cam removal

Has anyone had the problem with their car bucking after using a obd0 LS distributor instead of the stock b16. I haven't put it back on yet, but before the car wouldn't rev past 5K exactly where vtec kicks in.
Sounds like it was in backwards. Look at the distributor, the part that goes into the cam, and you'll see it makes a little arch, almost like a moon shape in it. It can go in both ways but should only go in one way. Line up the half moon on the dizzy to the cam and it should work fine.
Its funny you say that because I forgot to do that intially then I plugged it in and got the same outcome. I'm going to see if my timing has possible jumped a tooth or two.....
