When i hit v-tec around 6 thousand or any higher it puts a check engin light on but then when i turn my car off and start it again it stays off and won't come back on untill about 6 grand! i have a chipped ecu and a highflow cat do u think this could have anything to do with it?

Also my temp gauge is not working it was the other day but i just noticed that it's not anymore? And mabey its the thin firewalls or something but i can fell a lil heat down by the floor when i drive a long time i mean i was wearin sandles but its not that bad just a lil heat is that normal?

 

Are all of your grounds tight and secure?

 

test your temp sending switch (on the thermostat housing). drive car to normal operating temp. turn it off. unplug the switch. jump it with a wire. turn the key to "on," not started. if the needle moves, the switch is ok. if not, something else is the problem.
