so i'm driving to work this morning and right before i jump on the freeway i notice that the car is overheating.just about past the 3/4 mark. so i get on the freeway and as soon as i get the car going though the gears i notice the temp starts dropping to normal.then as i get off the freeway and stop at the light it starts to overheat again. i just changed my termostat 2 weeks ago. do you guys think this could be a fan switch issue? tia

Was the fan operating?

 

it was on but thats cause i had the heater on but i turned the heater off and no fan

 

In that case, the switch is a likely suspect.

 

WOw, same thing happened to me this morning on my way to work. Drive home with the heater on full blast to temporarily stop the gauge from hitting H.

You're lucky, my engine light came on and my D4 light started flashing.
