Default Map Sensor Codes....still having issues

I have been running the last 25 miles on codes 3 and 5 in my d16a6. I replaced the Map sensor, but still getting bOth codes. From start up, it seems to be running pig-rich and the car hesitates intermittently until I rev past 2k-2200 rpms in any gear. I am running the stock PM6 for right now, till I learn to tune/ find someone to help me tune my Zdyne better than the stock program. I finally got the exhaust exiting the stock location and the car is barely audible in comparison to the dump I was running before. I will throw up some pictures soon.

Last night, I took her out to see how she was acting and accidentally rev'd her to 4500 out of 2nd gear. Watching my rear view, I got a large puff of smoke and the car kept pulling. What happened? How bad was this for my motor? What can I do to adjust the settings?

d16a6 motor:
12.1:1 compression
Race A6 cam
44 miles on break-in

If you know you are running rich the smoke was prolly just unburnt gas what are the codes for? if one is the map and the other is possibly the tps they might be switched around since they are the same plug. Check that first. Make sure the firing order is right too.

You bumped up 3 points of compression with a stock ecu. Your ecu doesn't have fuel maps to run those extra 3 points, thus you are now in safety mode. The car is dumping as much fuel as it can so it will not run lean and detonate. You need to get it tuned.

it really depends on the tuner u go to...out here i usually pay 100 bux to get my car tuned...ask around a lot of places will give ht members discounts...
quick question...what color was the smoke that came out of ur car?

codes 3 and 5 are both MAP sensor - code 3 is problem with electrical part of sensor - code 5 is problem with vacuum part of sensor - sounds to me like bad MAP sensor

I eliminated that extra valve or whatever it is right next to the map and ran the map straight to the manifold now it works just fine just idles a little high

always run the map off the nipple on the TB

Your car was running pig rich because of the map error code. the map was not seeing proper vacuum. When you get into tuning you will see the entire ecu map of your car runs soley on rpm and map sensor readings.

You can try to adjust your idle down with the crew on the tb right by the map nipple. If that doesn't help you might have a leak or unplugged vac nipple. This may also cause your map reading to be off depending on how bad the leak really is.

thanks I will try re-routing. I found a vaccum leak also and got the codes off of there, but have not had a chance to drive it yet. I also adjusted the new CRX throttle cable out, as it was slightly too tight and holding open the throttle plate.
