I have a 94 EG with a B16 in it, I have an AEM high flow fuel rail with stock injectors. My problem is that when ever I try to set the pressure with just the fuel pump primed, as soon as I start the car it jumps up. Ill set the pressure at 38PSI and as soon as it is started it will jump to 42PSI. is there something im doing wrong? is the FPR shot?

 

i always adjust mine when the cars on. It needs pressure to get a correct setting...

 

yeah do it while the car is running, also it will run a little richer when cold than warm

 

You should be adjusting the regulator with the engine running and the vacuum hose disconnected.

 

I've done that, with the car running I can turn the adjustment screw all the way up and down and it won't make any difference.

 

Also, sometimes when I unhook the vacuum off from the regulator it doesn't even make pressure increase. Weird??????

Sounds like the typical B&M stuck partially open. Buy a AEM or Aeromotive.

Lucky yours is only stuck part open. If it stick wide open, all the fuel is bypassed back to the tank, interior will reek of gas, car losses about 90% of it power.

I got stranded in a hotel parking lot, 2 days before a import race. If this would have happened while running the 85 ZEX shot, motor would had died, explosively!!!!!

 

When I put the motor in at the beginning of summer after installing the fpr and a bunch of other stuff, it was real sluggish and it drank gas like crazy. Should I buy an aem fpr?

hhhmmm well I have had a B&M for 3 years and not one problem.

 

I think they were implyin that they are known to stick..not all of them will stick...just his is partially stuck...I had one for 1 yr..and was fine.. then i switched setups all together..

 

I had mine for 4+ years before it acted up, just a warning to keep your eyes open.

 

Will do then, this is the first time iv heard of this.
