Default ignition key (WTF!)

ok i dont no wat the problem is. I have a 95 accord LX and when i try 2 start the engine i sometimes have a hard time turning the key. i dont kno wat it is. i have to turn the wheel to the left a lil and turn the key at the same time. It works sometimes but not really. it always gets stuck as if it wasnt even the key for this car. I had 2 keys i lost the original which kinda wasnt any difference to the one i have now i dont kno if its the key itself or something else wat do u guys think?

I'm trying to wrap my head around this topic 'cus it's really simple but hard to discribe.

when you shut the car off make sure you're not trying to turn the steering wheel. After shutting off the engine there may be some residual energy trying to turn the wheel back, so it binds against the lock mechanism. that binding keeps the key from turning until you relieve that pressure.
You'll note that the wheel springs a little past (in the other direction) once you release the key.

This isn't uncommon when you do a lot of street parallel parking. You know, that kind of parking which requires a lot of turning, turning, turning, some swearing and more turning.

after so many uses keys wear as do cylinder locks tumblers, have the DEALER cut u a new key, spray some lube inside ignit switch cylinder , if still hard it might be time to replace the ignit switch assembly

cost to cut a key at dealer should be around 4 to 6 dollars... and spraying something like wd40 will not damage the switch

it called a steering wheel lock. Just turn you wheel to the left or to the right before you turn the key. That is just the way honda's are!!!

not sure what this stuff is but i would go along with this and spray the specific stuff that they sell for locks that they keys have a hard time going in and out of, not just wd40 or something

actually...if you have a 1998+ honda..you gotta pay about 70 dollars for a new key. there is like some damn chip in the key. if you copy it from like home depot or whatever, you can use that key to unlock/lock the doors, but you won't start the engine.
