freakin hood pins
OK the car came with a LIGHT carbon fiber hood on it and red freakin' hood pins. So I took the red hood pins off and got some locking hood pins. I figured it would be easy since the holes are already there and all... yea... right...
the pins the are on the hood are at an angle since..well..the hood slopes. And the pins come straight up from the support.
I was looking at other pics of ITRs with hood pins and all of the pins look pretty close to the center.. mine are pretty close to the corner..
I guess i'm just screwd and need to go back with what was on there (just not freakin red)??
Or does anyone have a suggestion to make it work?

When I first got my ITR it had a CF hood with some widely spaced hood pins. They actually went through holes that were already in the core support. If yours is the same way, don't worry about it as I've seen several cars with that. Sorry I don't have any pics though.
I'll have to get a picture tomorrow since it's increadibly dark right now.
This sucks
Right now i'm a ricer.. have the top of the hoodpin on .. hah just not the other half..

Not so Dear, you became a "ricer" when YOU bought an ITR ...

What exactly are you complaining about?
If you want different hood pins in, you'll need to drill out the rivets holding the existing ones in and replace them. I dont see what the problem is. The pins should not be at the center of the hood.

Stick with a pair of standard hood pins, and spray or powder coat them black if you prefer. The "locking" pins you speak of aren't intended to secure the hood the way true hood pins are, and safety could be compromised as a result.
didn't know that..
I wanted to make it a little more secure theft wise. But the hood flaps around like all get out without the hood pins so having it hold down is better.
I don't think these pins will work anyways.

Secure your hood properly before it flies up and takes out your windsheild and who knows what else while driving down the highway.

I honestly think a lot of that has to do with the crappy fit of your hood and the lack of the filler/welting/rubber that goes in place of the gap of the leading edge of the hood.
I say this after seeing the pics of your hood you'd previously posted in another thread of earlier your threads showing pics of your car. <shrug>
Girl ... you should have kept that Supra!
