Default headers collecter size!!

Hey I have a 98 jdm b181b ( compression is 9.4 vs 9.2 in US ) anyway, I have a full 2 1/4" cat back and I'm looking for some 4-2-1 headers with a 2 1/4 " collector???

Thanks Pat

I'm looking for headers with a 2 1/4" collector ( where the down pipe connects to the cat)
Who makes one with a 4-2-1 design???

Where are you going to put the other headers?

Ha ha, he's new. I got beat up for that one when I first got into cars.

But as far as what header you want, the fields wide open, go for anything with a usdm lenght and 2.25" collector. The only other option is jdm length and 2.5" collector for standard header bolt-on class and thats obviously not going to fit unless you get somet type of reducer cat/test pipe, which is kind pointless.

So, get what you want, DC is cheap in cost and has ok gains, sms, hytec, toda are the higher up's and cost more, but give better gains, especially with built engines and tuning.

Just make sure you let them know your getting one for a us cat/exhaust sized replacement. Just in case it doesn't state the flange size.

The rest is up to your choice now. And please search around, there are so many header choices and take a look at the header shootout if you want performance comparisons.

Ha ha, no, he's saying the correct word is "header". "Headers" refers to more than one headers.

I've never heard of the b181b, maybe its a boxer style engine like the wrx has, then he would need headers (although 2 1/4" for 2 cylinders would be a little much).

I'm not aware of any off-the-shelf or typical custom header that has a 2.25" collector. All of the "USDM" bolt-on headers feature 2" collectors, and almost every JDM or custom header utilizes a 2.5" collector. I'm sure you could have something fabricated with a 2.25" collector if you wanted to, but they're definitely not otherwise easy to come by.
