Radiator question . . . simple
Just need a simple answer to a simple question please:
THE BLUE PILL or THE GREEN PILL Neo?? . . . . . nah jk, but:
Radiator's leaking so i got some "Stop Leak" or whatever, but it says that after i pour it in i need to top it off with the antifreeze or coolant or whatever.
Now im just getting into cars since i juuuuuuust got one so im just wondering which one i need: the BLUE stuff or the GREEN stuff that goes in your radiator.
And are they both called antifreeze or coolant or are coolant and antifreeze totally 2 different things??? and which ones which if they are.
(i know it sounds dumb)
Thx!

Don't 'bandaid' problems, if your radiator is broken...fix it.
Coolant=antifreeze as far as I know. But some new coolants are blue and have a more bitter taste as to deter animals and kids from ingesting it, but usually colors don't match with other fluids in your car (oil = brown, coolant = green, windshield fluid = blue etc).

replace the leaking part and fill the system to the proper level and bleed it at the t-stat and rad cap. Stop leak is a temp fix and it is bad news for your water pump and hoses (depending upon what type of stop leak it is).
The rad on those cars is held in place with 4 bolts, 2 tranny cooling lines and if you are somewhat mechanically inclined, it is a 2 hour job

Stop leak is something you use if you're going to sell the car to some poor unsuspecting sap in the near future. As stated earlier, it ofter causes more problems than it fixes.
If you intend on keeping the car; invest the $90.00 to $120.00 for a good replacement radiator, grab a service manual, invest two hours and replace the $#%@*&& thing!
Stop leak?, you'll be back in a couple of months....

Green and blue can mix together it is ok. Just don't use the GM stuff or orange.
Honda actually recommends the blue stuff now and it is made to use alone or mix well with green.
