DUMB QUESTION ABOUT FLUSHING RADIATOR???
sorry if im asking this question but anyways...i got a great deal on a 99 si about 2 years ago with 122k miles. I had my motor rebuilt at 133,500 miles with obviously fresh coolant in my motor. Recently, at about 138k, my stock radiator started leaking and I bought a fluidyne radiator. I dont know when the last time the previous owner flushed the radiator, but when I flushed it, it looked pretty green. Anyways, before I flushed it, I drained the coolant from my old radiator. I then replaced the old radiator with the new fluidyne one. I put distilled water into the new one and ran the car until the cooling fan turned on. I drained that, but instead of refilling the radiator until the water ran clear, i filled it up with coolant and bleed the air out of it. The two questions that I have about this is...is it better to fill the radiator with distilled water and run it clear before adding the coolant or leave it if the coolant is clean? And also, after i bleed the system, I still saw some small bubbles on the top neck of my radiator, is that normal? thanks...and sorry for this long note.

Re: DUMB QUESTION ABOUT FLUSHING RADIATOR??? (Dat_One_Si)
i just add all of the coolant while the engine is cold and use a 50/50 mix of anitifreeze and coolant (assuming you didint buy the premixed you can just add it in) than once its filled run it with the cap off and keep topping it off... when it is full i put the cap on and run it i dont even bleed it and have never had a problem yet with it...
