Next DSP Buildup Part
Going on the davice of many HT members and local racers I went for 13" rims on R tires for competing in DSP. At the last event I placed 7/10 with only 2 tenths of a second from 5th place. Overall I'm looking to shave about 3 seconds to get to first place. I know seat time with my new R tires will shave some time but my IRS tax refund is coming so I'm looking at another upgrade. So, what do you all think is next:
Have:
Lenso 13" with Kumho 235/45/13
Coilovers
I/H/E
4 pt Harness
ITR Rear Sway Bar
Next:
Brake Pads (My tires can now out perform my brakes) or;
LSD or;
Clutch/Flywheel (Get into the higher RPM band faster)

The pricing on quaife's has dropped recently, but you'll probably need to pay a good shop to install/setup the diff properly.

LSD is a MUST...either get the ITR or a Quaife.

Saw a Type R diff for 300 bucks somewhere at one point. Still, by the time you install it, it is not exactly a budget mod. You might consider a set of anti roll bars, or just a rear one. Very cost effective. Couple that with the flywheel, and you will probably run out of money fast enough to suit you.
I recently have become acquainted with a light flywheel, and it is scary how it changes the characteristics of a car. Daily driving a car with it might not be the right thing to do though...

A light flywheel makes the car much harder to get off the line (stop and go traffic is a pain) but other than that they're great
The engine spins up and drops speed much faster........
Run out of money fast enough? You'll never run out of money fast enough in the SP classes.. no matter how much you're spending

It does not making it getting off the line MUCH harder. Any competent driver will have no problem. Trust me, I have a 6 lbs flywheel in my daily driver CRX. It has been in the car now for nearly 3.5 years. No problem.
I would suggest saving your money some and doing the LSD, Clutch and Flywheel all at once while you are in there. Trust me that is going to be your biggest gain other than driver you can do to the car now.
I would look at Mueller flywheels. Very good quality and price. I have seen them advertise in Sport Compact and GRM.

No, not that much harder... however i prefer a stock-weighted flywheel in a stop-n-go traffic every morning and afternoon 6 days a week daily driver
For a car that doesnt see that kind of use, and is more autoX or track oriented, i would put one in. IMHO, YMMV
