Default Thinking about buying an S2K..pros and cons

Ok, so here I am debating again about buying yet another car. I've had about 30 hondas and other cars since I turned 16 and I'm 23 now. Anyways, to the point. Right now, I'm rolling a 94 2 door gsr, with a turbonetics turbo kit, hondata, and a built block including 84mm bore, darton mid sleeves, align hone, polished crank, cp 9:1 pistons and eagle rods, NX ntercooler kit, 3 inch exhaust, stage 3 clutch, full supsension with all strut and sway bars, 15 inch lighweights, and alot of minor things like short shifter and blah blah blah. The only thing not touched yet is the head, which is next on the list after stage 3 axles and lsd. The car pushes near 405whp without the spray and about 450whp with the spray at 17psi.

I recently drove an 01 s2k and totally fell in love! It was stock yellow with black interior. All I've been doing is thinking of it and dreaming and thinking if I has one, what mods I would do to it first! It's tiny though and there is no room for anything. I have a 4runner though, so it wouldnt be my only ride. You guys with the s2k's, I need some more convincing. I'm worried about not being able to make it as fast as my teg, but I think if I bought the 2sk, it'd keep it n/a. How much horsepower is available with a fully buit high compression n/a f20c? Is 350whp reachable if I stay n/a? I want to know before I buy. Thanks for helping a way too excited honda enthusiast!!

350 is too much for N/A application ... and yellow is knows as the slowest of all the s2k family

Are you going to make it a drag car? Several people have made S2k's into drag cars, and it's feasible, but it'll take $$$. For a drag car, I'd look into LS1's. Lot more cost effective to make faster.

Coming from a DC2R, the practicality level is down, but fun level is way up, esp with the top down. Looking forward to tracking it, once the track here is done (next month?).

Just my $.02

No, I'm not going to make it a drag car. I wanted to keep the s2k all motor, but i want to know what numbers are realistic for a n/a built motor with ITBs.

S2000 isnt an optimal choice if you're all about straight line speed and drag racing...not to say it cant be, just saying it isnt the best choice really. If you are a die hard straight line guy...go with something else, if you want to venture into something a little more than just acceleration, the S2000 is for you...

What are your main goals for your car?

i dont know the answer to the question your asking, but i do know that all these people arent answering it. he just asked a question, expecting and answer. not a lecture on what types of cars are better for what you think he wants to do with the s2000.

i say if you know the answer just say it. dont beat around the bush with it.

i would guess, with itbs and a whole bunch of other n/a stuff, 250 whp realistically

^^^ Yap yap yap...quit trying to be the ******* hero bud.

The question was simple, he wanted to know some pro's and con's of the cars, and in order to legitimately give him some answers to his question, we need to know what kind of things he's planning (both mod wise and DRIVING/RACING style wise). Its not beating around the bush, its trying to give more in depth, helpful, and legitimate answers.

Have you checked s2ki? I'm sure you'll find better answers there.

More "prospective owners". Buy it, then mod the hell out of it. Then realize what a waste of money it was, then scramble to sell your parts, which are then outdated.
