question about wiring oem 99-00 fogs
i bought some oem 99-00 civic fogs and i understand that they run on the switch but can they only be turned on when the headlights are on?i want to be able to run the fogs all by theirselves....will i have to run the wiring different?
If you run the power wire through the headlight harness, or through a headlight related fuse in the fusebox...then they will come on and off with the headlights.
If you wire them through an accessory fuse, or ignition..and put them on a switch..then you can turn them off and on at your leisure.
Actually..now that i think about it. Since you said OEM fogs, they may have plugs that connect to existing plugs on the OEM wiring harness. Im not sure. But if they do, disregard my post because you obviously wont be wiring them, just plugging them in.

If you want that, get the Depo lights. If not here's a writeup...

The DIY can also be found on ClubSi and Clubcivic with better pictures. Basically the directions are the same. Your gonna use all oem plugs and do a pin swap on the power wires. I've done it, on a friends car. Takes about 10 minutes to mod the harness.
