Default Can you put an air filter on without the piping?

You know... put the airfilter where the piping would attach and just cut out the middle man? Then put a breather filter or whatever on the valve cover? I'm asking this because I need a quick fix for my intake piping which is having a hole rubbed in it and I need something just for a couple of weeks

I don't see why not...

It's not going to pull in colder air like a CAI, but it'll work as a quick-fix.

It will work, but it is kinda ghetto and it will draw in hot air. I would guess that throttle response will be nice.

As soon as I can get 10bucks, i'll let you guys know Oh and also, does anyone know if the breather will be hit by the hood? Since the H23 nipple thing is on the top?

hook a tube up to the nipple, and then run it to a lower (height) location. You can use fuel line, if need be, or any other tubing you can get for $1.

Yea, I did it too, you won't see any gains at all, because you're pulling in some of the hottest air. Its also ******* loud even compared to any other aftermarket intake, but yes, its ghetto too.

Well I know it's super ghetto... but can I just plug the hole on the valve cover so I don't have to spend ANY money on the breather I know this is a horrible idea but would it work? I could do it right now!

It's like Chris Rock says: You can do a lot of things, but that don't make them good ******' ideas .

You probably won't screw anything up for the short-term, but be careful you don't rev too high, and drive it only if you hafta.
