Default need to get something straightened out

Ok, ive been reading about Headers. and i saw people saying that the d15b7 in my 93 Lx has a cat built into the Header. so that means, if i get a new header, i need to get a cat as well, or its gonna sound like crap, but if i have to do that, wouldnt i have to redo the whole exhaust piping at the same time?

would it be smarter to upgrade all of the exhaust parts at the same time, from header to cat to resonator to muffler.

im a novice sorry if this sounds like a dumb question

it would be smarter to just upgrade the exhaust at the same time, actually i would do that first b4 getting a header. that way you know how it fits. usually most exhaust are catback ....meaning catalytic convertor all the way back exhaust. And yes you have to get a new cat under the car as oppose to the cat as part of the header.

thank you man, i thought that it would be something just as simple as, header, cat, res, pipe, muffler

guess nothing is that easy, oh well
