Which wideband is better and why
I am looking at both the AEM gauge type wideband and the LM1 gauge type wideband i was wondering which is better and if you can answery why tell me why.
innovate lm-1....never had a problem with it....and its the most accurate wideband you can buy...plus it datalogs WITHOUT a laptop(no one else has this)...very usefull....it will datalog for 45minutes....great for logging runs at the track to keep track of how the engine is running...

PLX widebands are what all the tuners in my area use and their comments are they work well with leaded or unleaded gas where as with the AEM my understanding is that running leaded race gas drastically reduces the the life of the bosch 02 sensor... Personally I am running an AEM and am not impressed with the quality of product ( The harness is tied directly into the gauge rather than being able to plug & unplug it, and the plug that runs through the firewall is unrealistically large requiring one to unpin and repin it to run it neatly). For a 350-400 dollar sensor it could be better engineered. PLX now makes a 52mm display allowing you to mount it in a gauge pillar. If I keep my car eventually I will switch to PLX.

according to who?

i dont have any experience with the aem gauge style, but i prefer electronic displays. lm-1 is good for multiple cars, but its pretty big and not that easy to mount the display in a car. plx's are nice but pretty expensive. zeitronix zt-2's are great for the price, and the display is not that bad to mount because of the size. the display front is about the size of most head units
I too have the AEM wideband and everything that you said JDMVTEC is true. the plug is crazy. I had a hard time putting it through the firewall and yeah, I think if you run leaded fuel it limits the life of the plug to around 80,000km. I haven't had to buy a new sensor yet, but it sucks that when I use it, it's only to tune with and then I take the sensor out because of the life span on that bitch.

ive used about all of the widebands.
here is my take.
seen several tech edge's displays start to take a crap.
PLX's is what i most often use (as i own one). i like it except for the connection harness, i constantly use my plx on the cars i tune, and the harness wires are cheap and are brittle, so ive had to resolder the wires a couple times.
other than that, it works great
Innovate.
i like this company, they come out with some cool gadgets. while their unit is very big and bulky, they made a suction cup that will hold their big *** unit on the windshield.
only other thing bad about the innovate lm1, it takes awhile to warm up. so if we are working on the start up enrichment, you have to make sure the wideband has a constant power and not running off a cig lighter that doesnt have power when the car is off.....
aem is ok, not my favorite, but gets the job done....
