Default Can idle be smoothed out by adjusting the ignition timing?

My H23 engine requires 15 degrees advanced at 700 rpm.

As a general rule, is there any way to adjust timing from this default setting to make the idle a bit smoother? (ie, less vibration on the steering wheel at idle)

oh yeah..it if too high it can detonate causing it to miss, too low would cause problems with misfire as well.
