yeah there is a depth limit...but you can unscrew that black basket and cut out the back so the speakers' magnent can fit in or you can just take a saw or dremel and cut it while its still in the door.
that fix wont always work
i got 6.5 infinity references, the woofer was sitting againts the door panel, unless you want to cut ur door panel, which will make the grill not fit any more, i suggest you research for speakers that fit the front.
so, infinity references = no for front, unless you can make ur own mounting bracket, or buy one to replace that POS plastic one.
i found the kenwoods tend to fit perfectly, but they arent as good as other speakers

IF you're having trouble with depth even after cutting the basket...make a small MDF baffle.
Basically its a peice of wood used as a "riser" around the mounting ring on the speaker...so in the end, the speaker is mounted say a half an inch further out than the original mouting place..
The grille MAY not fit back on..but ****, the speakers in there.

No, you do not need a special 3 way deck hahaha.
Do you know why you want 3 ways? If you plan on using your deck to power these, as opposed to an external amp, you may be underpowering them.
Alot of 3way speakers have a built in crossover, and sometimes have to be wired differently.

i dont see how that can work, as i said before my infinity references without a "riser" were sitting againts the door panel, which would muffel the sound and destroy the speaker.
