Default got some issues with my motor. not the R btw.

ok well this isnt an R post, but please help a local stunnaR out.

well i just put a 96 LS motor into my 2000 LS. i am using the ECU from the 2000 LS which has its immobilizer removed. everything is good, but it just takes a few turns to get the motor to turn on. sometimes even another go at cranking it. and sometimes if i give it enough gas it will start (at least thats what it seams, but lets not rule it a gas problem at first). ive tried to plug the EVAP line deal that worked on my previous motor in there. only mod that could be a factor is the fuel pump isnt stock, its a 190walbro pump (had it in there from the old motor). but the injectors are stock so that shouldnt matter right? i thought for a second i could be flooding the motor everything i turn the key to the ACC position and the pump primes. but i dont know. other than the start up, it runs real good. idles around 500-600. doesnt surge or anything

i want to mess with timing. but its set at the stock setting it was from the car i got it from (maybe the specs were different from 96 and 2000).

THANKS!!1

I doubt you would be flooding your motor since the injectors are stock. The only way you would flood it is if you have absurdly high fuel pressure to force additional fuel through the injectors. Perhaps the fuel pump is starting to die out on you, or you have a clogged filter. Have you checked the fuel pressure before and after the filter when priming and at idle?

Side note, what is going to happen when you get it inspected? NC law says motor swaps are supposed to be same year as the chassis (or newer). Then again, your ECU is still a 2000, so if you don't have any CEL's, maybe the scan will be ok.

That sucks

Then again, pre-OBD2 cars are off the hook starting then.

alright. a little update. when i turn the key to hear the pump prime and let it prime til it stops, then the car pretty much starts right up.

so there is a lack of fuel im guessing.
