Has anyone ever installed an aftermarket muffler and it screw up your idle ???
I just installed an N1 muffler on my Del Sol B16 which is all stock except for CAI and a test pipe.......
and now my idle pulses from 800 rpm to 1400 rpm consistently !
whats up with that ?

sounds like a vaccuum leak in the manifold. You sure you didn't unplug any hoses?
And no, installing a muffler will not cause irratic idle.

heres what i did to check for vac leaks:
1. remove your intake.
2. have a friend start the car.
3. cup the palm of your left hand onto the intake mani.
4. if car erratically idles down and not idling like you said and you can hear a slight whistling or sucking/pshhing noise, there might be a leak somewhere. otherwise the engine would just die then theres no leak.
I might be wrong on so many levels, but this method worked for me.
hope this helps you. LMK if you need more advice.
