Default Boostin 00' SI

Ok first off this is not for me it's for a buddy of mine. He drives a 00 ebp SI and is wantin some answers to a few questions. He is about to buy a stock turbo off of a 99 eclipse gsx for $200. The turbo itself has been modded. Is this price reasonable or not? Also he is wanting to know exactly how to set it up and wants to know everything needed to be bought and done to the motor to make it reliable for a daily driven car. Have tried searching so please try not to flame too hard. Any responses will be greatly appreciated. Thanks!!

Best way to do it is Ask yourself what you want and expect out of the car. Pick up a book do some research, and dont buy crap. Now that turbo is probably a 16G which probably like 15-16 psi around 2200 rpm running on a honda built right.

stock turbo on the GSX/GST would be a t-25 Garrett. Its a small turbo and maxes out at about 16psi safely but can run 12-14 daily.

I do not think you would be happy with the results of a ''modded'' t25 on a b16, save up and get a nice kit or shop around and piece it together.. first of all hit up the forced induction part of the site and then the classifieds.

hrrm... i had a turbo off a eclipse on my d16 in my 95 coupe... it was a TD04 14b not a t25... bigger than a t25... and the car was pretty fast.. .when i put the motor (stock sohc v minime) in my crx and took it to the track, the car broke the tps off the manifold between 2nd and 3rd (motor mount... dont ask) and just rolled the rest of the way, i ran a 14.6... pretty good for pounding it 1/2 way down teh track imho...

The 14b( mitsubishi) is the stock turbo off the 1st gen Eclipse 89-94. the 2nd gens 95-99, which is what he has in this case, is a t-25 (garrett) which is smaller. In 98-99 the GST spyder only came with a t-28.
