***SMS B18C5 HEADER LENGTH and FITMENT QUESTION***
I did search but nothing really answered my question although i did find a lot of other good info on the header.
1)How long is the sms header???
2)To what point under the car does the SMS B18C5 header reach???
3)I have J's racing 60rs exhaust will I have fitment issues???
3)If so what do I need to de to make it fit properly???

So he didn't tell you the length of the header?
If you knew that, couldn't you then go take a measurement and figure it out?

the length of the j's exhaust is longer (not exactly sure how much) due to the tiny jdm cat...i need to know if i will need to cut the exhaust and re weld it or will it meet up with the smsp b18c5 header...does any one have a full cat back jdm length exhaust wit an sms b18c5 header???
Another thing that i know Dave knows. I have, long ago, talked to him about the length of cats he uses for use with JDM length headers and stock length/USDM exhausts and also JDM length headers and JDM length exhausts.
JDM exhausts are approx 5"-5.5" longer than the stock length USDM ITR exhaust. And Dave can obviously tell you how long his header is, so... all the info you need is there just waiting for you to put it all together.
If you know what is needed to fit an SMSP header and USDM length exhaust... you'll have a fair estimation of what you'll need with a JDM length exhaust. I'm sure someone has this info.
I still don't see the issue, if you have the header and you have the exhaust, you should be able to see what you need.
I'm not trying to be a dick, I'm trying to help YOU find the info YOU need in case no one has what you want.
In most cases doing it yourself is way less confusing. Relying on someone else's measurements and understanding of what you want can be a pain in the ***.

The sms headere eliminates the cat like the comptech race right???I dont have the header yet...he said he cant say for sure what is needed to make them fit because he has never heard of the exhaust but he did mention the 5.5 inch difference...so basically i am assuming once the header comes in i might have to cut about 5.5 inches off the exhaust to have them meet up properly.

no, it does not eliminate the cat. You can choose to not use one, sure, otherwise you have to get a custom size made. Either way you are going to need some sort of piping, cat or not, to attach the header to the exhaust. or... you will neet to get the flange on the front of your exhaust cut off so you can get the pipe flared to fit the donut gasket on the header. much easier to just get a pipe w/ a flange attached to the exhaust, even if you have to cut/reflange the exhaust.
I know with the hytech full exhaust, you can get a Renault cat, which is much shorter (AFAIK) than a stock-ish length cat.
I do not think you'll have to cut off 5.5 inches, which is the difference in length between the cats used for jdm header+usdm exhaust and jdm header+jdm exhaust. I'm not sure where you got that (cutting that much off) from. If you do have to cut off that length, it is pure coincidence.
if you know that the jdm length exhaust is 5.5"-ish inches longer than the usdm exhaust, and i'm sure you can find out how long the SMSP header is.. take some measurements under the car.
I think dave knows the answer, i dont think the right questions are being asked. or he wants you to use your brain to figure it out

I think RJ is using a JDM-length cat-back with an SMS header, and he got this little dinky test pipe made. PM him about it.
anyways... i did ask the same question about this situation, adn i know chris knows i had this conversation with him the last time i saw him. Well as far as the header goes, you will have* i repeat you will have fitment issues with the primary o2 sensor. The primary sensor will hit the front swaybar (cone can vouch for it, and so does sujal), you would need to either run it w/out the primary or relocate it. (if you have the extra $$ you can get a new o2 sensor with a smaller body, but i just relocated it). I'm not sure if anyone else had the same problem but from what dave(SMSP) told me it was the newer version that he sent me which wouldn't have any clearance issues. I'm currently running a SmSp header + renault cat + welded onto a hytech exhaust. Pb at sujal had to cut some of the hytech pipe to fit the cat.
Just a heads up, you will have to relocate the primary o2 sensor

There is no set length on the header, it will depend on the set up. These are custom. A JDM exhaust is 5" longer than an USDM exhaust. But you will have to mod your cat back for the header and it will need to be shortened if you plan to run a cat.
I'd also recommend a 2-1/2" exhaust since the collector is 2-1/2"

i just feel a header with that price tag should fit with little modification if any...my comptech race header fit perfect but you did have to extend the o2 sensor to its new location. that wasnt a big deal to me but wioth the sms i am under the impression you have to remove the bunge weld the hole shut and cut a new hole and re weld the bunge for the o2 sensor

I'm not sure what gave you this impression, but it isn't true. You most likely will need to extend the O2 sensor wires due to the length of the header, but there is no welding or cutting involved there. Remember, one of the reasons that SMSP headers perform so well is that Dave does not need to design them to fit within the constraints of the factory length. Because of this, certain minor modifications are necessary for installation.

THIS IS WHY I ASKED...i already have an exstension for my primary o2 THATS NOT AN ISSUE FOR ME

Please see "One Size Does Not Fit All" under http://sms-products.com/Intro.html That explains the cat/B pipe mod issues on the flip side I have started to locate the O2 bung in one of the secondaries to prevent having to extend the O2 wires. I personally like the O2 bung in the collector.

Then why did you say it sucks?
RJ - who is very happy with the SMS product, and thinks you should stop whining and contact dave to place an order and have a discussion about what YOU need if you are serious about buying one.

It's a race piece. This is what you get.
Goddamn. I can't believe this thread. There is only so many ways we can all spin it for you. How many ways to figure it all out did I give you? Jeeesus. If you can't figure it out - or can't find someone who can help you - maybe you should just sell it. Or stop posting this stuff. If you don't even have the parts - and you are asking for precise measurements... bah. Whatever. I've wasted enough time in this thread as it is.
